Madekwe was raised in an ethnically diverse family. The mother of her child is English and her father Nigerian. She was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. She appeared on stage in many productions while attending school like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career in the film Storm Damage. She has appeared as guest in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe played Elisha on The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared on six of the episodes Trexx and Flipside. She played Bambi on The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. A couple of her credits on stage include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe first aired in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show was telecast in the US on The CW for only two episodes, before it was ended. She was cast in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. After a period of two years as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 to the year 2016. Madekwe wed her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg on June 2012. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with Madekwe in Salem.

Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. Her parents, Roy and Patty and the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks because her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball and both in the summer and winter. Ashley was never a walker, she did dance, so when she was two and a half she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley was captivated by dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school in top divisions such as tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention the few.
